Ryan Greenberg

Welcome
After a brief stint as a biology major, Ryan Greenberg began pursuing a career in sports media during his freshman year at UC Santa Barbara in 2021.

After sports writing experiences in academic settings throughout high school and college, Greenberg launched his sports podcast Unentitled Sports in June 2022, which still publishes new episodes to Spotify regularly.

Greenberg began his role as a sports anchor/reporter at UCSB TV at the beginning of his junior year. In his two years at UCSB TV, Greenberg has covered Gauchos athletics year-round, as well as the NBA on multiple occasions.

Greenberg interned for the Santa Barbara Foresters during the summer of 2023, where he was afforded the opportunity to write the team's game stories, serve as the official scorekeeper, provide PA announcing, and have his first experience broadcasting, providing both play-by-play and color commentary.

Greenberg continued his broadcasting career with UCSB Baseball during the 2024 season, once again providing both play-by-play and color commentary all season.

In April 2024, Greenberg was hired to Noozhawk, Santa Barbara's 24/7 online newspaper, as a sports contributor, helping the publication provide thorough coverage of UCSB sports on a freelance basis.

After graduating in June 2024, Greenberg began a sports internship at ABC7 News Bay Area (KGO-TV), where he learns from Larry Beil and Chris Alvarez, among others. Ryan is excited to launch a full-time career in sports media at the conclusion of the internship.

Greenberg also played ice hockey at UCSB, serving as the team's president his senior year. He also grew up swimming competitively before retiring in 2021. Greenberg enjoys spending his free time with his dog named Z.
